How members join
Psychiatrists refer their patients for membership in Club Horizon when they are well on their way to recovery and are stable. Continued eligibility for membership depends upon members' on-going active treatment for their mental disabilities.
Club Horizon has at least one highly trained staff member for every eight members in order to:

carefully screen member clients prior to admission

continually monitor mental health status of members

work side-by-side with members to regain skills

The concept
Club Horizon's program is based on an intgernationally successful program, called the "Clubhouse Model", proven to help people with mental disabilities regain their lives and recover in a supportive environment. Eleven other clubhouses are located across North Carolina including Club Nova in Chapel Hill and Threshold in Durham.
